Welcome to Pixel Plant!

It's spring, and your pixel plant seed has just sprouted.

As a plant, you need to soak up ☀️ sunlight from your shoots and 💧 water from your roots to store ⚡️ energy in the form of sugar.

Use stored ⚡️energy to grow, bloom new 🌸 flowers, and make those flowers form 🍓 fruits and disperse 🌰 seeds.

How many 🌰 seeds can you disperse before the end of the growing season in 200 days?

HINTS

  • Click on ☀️ sunlight when it hits leaves and 💧 water when it hits roots.
  • Making a new shoot or new root makes a new branch point on the plant. Grow the shoots or roots to grow from that branch.

This is fun.  I had to drag-select the screen to see the sun and water icons.  I like the educational value.

Interesting, thanks for the heads-up! Do you mind my asking what browser you were using?

This is such a creative, outside the box game, well done! I love the minimalist design and the mix of sim elements with some reflexes needed to soak up the sun/water.  I only got to 400 seeds but I'm curious about the optimal "build".  I did notice that the sun can only be clicked on a green shoot (not blossoms or fruit),  not sure if that's intentional but it would be nice if the sun could be clicked on any part of the plant.

Thanks! I agree that having the flowers no able to collect sunlight is a frustrating part of the game! The flowers aren't supposed to capture sunlight, since IRL flowers don't usually photosynthesize. Maybe I should include a hint about that in the instructions.

My hope is to keep developing the game into something that a teacher could use in a lesson where students get to play around and discover things (like which parts of a plant can absorb sunlight, and what the best growth strategies are) for themselves, and also have adjustable settings to reflect different climates and plant development strategies like seed size.

I appreciate the feedback and that you took the time to play!

i played this one the longest so far, the teaching elements arent so obvious, but thats what i like about it. had to restart a few times until figured out how it worked, but then i had to play the whole thing to see what happens when you complete it. definitely one of my fav submissions

Thanks so much!
